How To File And Pay

FILING OPTIONS

Before a business can report and pay B&O tax, the business must maintain a valid and active City of Auburn business license.  For information on obtaining a City of Auburn business, please see to City of Auburn webpage www.auburnwa.gov/permits  or email at [email protected].

There are two options for filing your tax returns and pay:

Online Filing

You may now file your B&O, Utility, Gambling, and Other tax returns electronically, using FileLocal.

  • Businesses will be required to link a valid and active City of Auburn business license prior to being able to report and pay B&O Tax.  The manual validation by the City Tax Division may take up to 48 business hours. After the business license is approved, you may start filling the City tax return.
  • After you have completed your online return, you will be required to pay your taxes online. You have the option of paying with either:
  • ACH – you can enter your bank account number and routing information to make a one-time payment.  This type of payment will be charged a fee of $1 per transaction.
  • Credit Card – you can enter your credit card information for a one-time payment. Payments made with credit cards will be charged a fee of 2.5% of the transaction amount, which will be charged to the credit card.
  • Please note, in addition to the fees listed above there will also be added a $4 fee for each city you are completing a filing for on FileLocal. For questions related to the fees please visit the FAQ section of FileLocal.
