Auburn CERT and Emergency Communications Volunteers
CERT - Community members who have completed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training may apply to become credentialed emergency workers within the city, allowing them to aid in local and regional disasters. Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in local and regional continuing education activities, including training and field exercises. Auburn CERT volunteers assist the community by providing disaster preparedness training, safety demonstrations, crowd control and other activities at community events.
Emergency Communications - The Auburn Area Emergency Communications Team (AAECT) is a group of volunteer amateur radio operators in the Auburn area who are credentialed emergency workers within the city and are Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) qualified. - Provide radio support for CERT education and CERT drills
- Provide communications support for the Auburn Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergency activations, drills, and exercises
- Support amateur radio by recruiting new radio operators
