Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
CERT training is designed to teach community members how to help themselves and the people around them during and after a disaster.
2023 Fall CERT Schedule
Class Dates
Tuesdays and Thursdays,
September 12 - October 3,
6:00 - 9:00 PM
Saturday, September 23,
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Disaster Drill
Saturday, October 7,
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The Auburn CERT class is offered free of charge.
Class graduates will receive a backpack, hard hat, a reflective vest, safety goggles, and other gear to keep. Participants are asked to provide their own work gloves and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
Classes are held at the Auburn Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 1 E Main St.

About CERT
CERT is a blend of hands-on and classroom education that will have participants practicing extinguishing fires, treating injuries, and search and rescue techniques, as well as learn skills like emergency preparedness, utility safety, prioritizing medical care, emergency communications, and how to address the psychological impact of disasters. At the end of the course, CERTs will find, rescue, and treat 'injured' survivors for the final earthquake drill!
