Kim Tepe

    Kimberly Tepe - September 12 to November 7, 2024

The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of Kimberly Tepe at the Community Center Gallery, on view September 12 – November 7, 2024.

“I take inspiration from the natural world, layering textiles to mimic the colors and textures in the landscape; Velvets becomes moss, wools become tree bark, and crisp satins becomes ice. I see complex in the ordinary and riches in the overlooked. When I’m stuck, I just go outside and look at the trees or the moss, I stop to look at the mushrooms growing in the neighbor’s lawn, then I come back to the table and create what I experienced."

Lev Elkin

   Lev Elkin - September 12 to November 7, 2024

The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of Lev Elkin at the Community Center Gallery, on view September 12 – November 7, 2024.

“I am a sculptor transforming found wood into art. I find twisted branches and driftwood on river banks and ocean shores and strive to reveal their hidden beauty. Some pieces display their potential right away and others spend months or even years on my shelf before I arrive at a concept. Similarly, some take weeks and others much longer to finish. If a piece needs to be mounted, I pay meticulous attention to selecting and crafting the right base to complement my art. I hope my art brings joy and inspires others to see hidden beauty in seemingly ordinary pieces of wood.”

The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of Penny FireHorse at the Cheryl Sallee Gallery, on view September 11 – November 6, 2024!

“I create art using acrylics and acrylic enamel on surfaces like glass, ceramic, porcelain, and canvas. In 2017, I expanded into digital art with an iPad Pro and later explored Acrylic Pouring on Canvas. My work, often compared to Van Gogh for its vibrant colors and rich textures, is a reflection of my connection to universal energy. Each piece embodies love and happiness, emerging from a deep, soulful place.”
