Stormwater Management Action Planning

Auburn is committed to clean water, and we need your help!

The City of Auburn is participating in the Stormwater Management Action Planning (SMAP) process to address pollution from urban runoff (stormwater), the leading cause of pollution in Washington’s waterways.

How will the SMAP benefit our community?

  • Providing cleaner waterways
  • Help resolve residential flooding challenges
  • Create opportunities: new open spaces, parks, and trees for your community
  • Use City funds more efficiently by finding opportunities to combine efforts with other City departments for stormwater project implementation
  • Reflect the community’s values on water quality and inform how and where future actions are implemented

Find out more, get involved, and help make the commitment to clean water!

We would like your help to make the SMAP a success. We’d like you to share your concerns, help prioritize what locations are addressed first, and shape the actions that will be taken. Head to our Stormwater Management Action Planning website to engage with the SMAP process in the following ways:

  • Read educational material about the SMAP process
  • Interact with the geographic informational system (GIS) maps displaying the data used for the receiving water assessment
  • Explore the Equity and Social Justice Mapping Tool showing how environmental and socioeconomic data were included in the SMAP process
  • Provide feedback to the city on stormwater on the City of Auburn Public Input Map
  • Fill out the City of Auburn SMAP Public Survey to help the city prioritize their actions
