Auburn Way South (SR 164) – 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza

On Monday, August 19, 2019, through approximately Friday, August 23, 2019, construction work by R.W. Scott Construction for the Auburn Way South Sidewalk Improvements project will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of traffic on Auburn Way South (SR164), from 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza.

To accommodate commuter traffic, lane restriction hours are as follows:

• Westbound lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

• Eastbound lane closures will be between the hours of 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice. Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Auburn Way South (SR 164) – 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza  SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION

Starting Friday, August 16, 2019, the speed limit in both directions of Auburn Way South between 17th Street SE and Muckleshoot Plaza will be reduced to 35 mph as part of the Auburn Way South Sidewalk Improvements project.

This will provide a safer work zone for our construction crews onsite as well as the travelling public driving through the project area.

Ellingson Road - C Street SW to A Street SE

On Monday, August 12, 2019, through Friday, August 30, 2019, construction work by ICON Materials for the 2019 Citywide Pavement Patching and Overlay project will require lane closures and disruptions of both directions of traffic on Ellingson Road, from C Street SW to A Street SE.

To accommodate commuter traffic, the work will occur at different times for each direction of travel:

  • Westbound lane closures will be between the hours of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Eastbound lane closures will be between the hours of 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM

This work is dependent on weather, and may be re-scheduled without further notice. Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, however delays should be expected.

A Street SE - White River Bridge to 37th Street SE

On Monday, August 12, 2019, through Friday, August 30, 2019, construction work by ICON Materials for the 2019 Citywide Pavement Patching and Overlay project will require lane closures and traffic disruptions at various locations along the A Street SE corridor between the White River Bridge and 37th Street SE.

To accommodate commuter traffic, the work will occur at different times for each direction of travel:

  • Northbound lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Southbound lane closures will be between the hours of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

This work is dependent on weather, and may be re-scheduled without further notice. Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, however delays should be expected.

Kersey Way SE - Evergreen Way SE/53rd Street SE to A Street Court E - ROAD CLOSURE

 

For two consecutive weekends, beginning Friday evening, August 16, 2019 at 7:00 PM through Monday morning, August 19, 2019 at 5:00 AM, and then again on Friday evening, August 23, 2019 at 7:00 PM through Monday morning, August 26, 2019 at 5:00 AM, construction work by KLB Construction for the Auburn Elementary School #15 project, will require a full closure of Kersey Way SE to all traffic from Evergreen Way SE/53rd Street SE to A Street Court E. This work is not dependent on weather.  

Signed detour routes will be in place and delays should be expected. Access to residences and businesses within the closure limits will only be allowed from the south using Lake Tapps Parkway to Kersey Way SE.

GREEN RIVER ROAD – North of Auburn Golf Course to Mary Olson Farm - ROAD CLOSURE

UPDATED August 8, 2019

The full closure of Green River Road that was scheduled to begin on Monday, August 12, 2019 and be completed by Friday, September 20, 2019 has been delayed and will now start on Monday, August 26, 2019 and continue until Friday October 4, 2019. The construction work, by King County Road Services Division for the Green River Road Culvert Replacement Project, will require a full closure of Green River Road to all traffic from just north of the entrance to the Auburn Golf Course to the entrance to Mary Olson Farm.

Access to the residences, the Auburn Golf Course, and Isaac Evans Park, will only be available from the south using 104th Ave SE to Green River Road. Access to Mary Olsen Farm will only be available from the north using 94th Place S to Green River Road.

Auburn Way North - 30th Street NE to 35th Street NE

Beginning Monday, August 19, 2019, through Friday, September 30, 2019, construction work by Miles Resources for the Duffy's Auto Brokerage project, will require lane closures and disruptions to the northbound lanes of Auburn Way North, from 30th Street NE to 35th Street NE, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.  

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Auburn Way South (SR 164) - 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza

Beginning Thursday, August 8, 2019, through the end of October 2019, construction work by R.W. Scott Construction for the Auburn Way South (SR 164) Sidewalk Improvements project, will require a right lane closure of westbound traffic on Auburn Way South (SR 164), from 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza, weekdays between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.  

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

City Wide Pavement Striping

Ongoing work now through the end of September, City wide pavement striping will be taking place. Crews will be striping arterial and collector roads throughout the City. Please do not follow paint vehicles too closely or cross over wet paint. This work is dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during painting, but minor delays should be expected in areas where painting is currently taking place.

A Street SE – East Main Street to 17th Street SE

On Monday, July 15, 2019 through Friday, October 25, 2019, construction work by Pivetta Brothers Construction, for the A Street SE Preservation project, will require intermittent lane closures and disruptions to both directions of A Street SE, from East Main Street to 17th Street SE during the following specified times:

• Northbound A Street SE between the hours of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Southbound A Street SE between the hours of 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM 

This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Auburn Way South – Union Court SE to 32nd Street SE

On Monday, April 29, 2019, through Monday, September 30, 2019, construction work by Stafford Excavating for the MIT Allotment M7 West project, will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of Auburn Way South, from Union Court SE to 32nd Street SE, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This work is not dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.
