2022 Annual Comprehensive Plan Text & Map Amendments 
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING (NOH)

The City of Auburn is issuing a Notice of Public Hearing (NOH) for the following described project. 

Proposal: Adopt amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan consisting of the following Text (P/T) and Map (CPM) Amendments and amendments to zoning map (rezone) to implement:

Comprehensive Plan Text Amendments 
P/T #5 – City of Auburn 2023-2028 Capital Facilities Plan
P/T #6 – Volume 1, Land Use Element. Staff is proposing to reinstate the P-1, Public Use zone into Auburn’s Comprehensive Plan and further differentiate the P-1 zone from the I, Institutional zone. Amending the Land Use Element of Auburn’s Comprehensive Plan to relist the P-1 zone as an implementing zoning district will be necessary. The land use designation “Institutional” is proposed to be renamed “Public/Quasi-Public” and will continue to have the following implementing zoning designations: Institutional, Public Use, and Landing Field.
Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments 
CPM #1 - Volume 1: Land Use Element: Comprehensive Land Use Map to be updated to reflect “Institutional” use renamed as “Public/Quasi-Public,” consistent with proposed revisions described in P/T #6.

Statement of Consistency and List of Applicable Development Regulations:  This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with the Auburn City Code, Comprehensive Plan, and Public Works Design and Construction Standards.

Lead Agency: City of Auburn

The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request. 

Public Hearing: A public hearing is required for this proposal. The public hearing has been scheduled for November 8, 2022 at 7:00 PM. The public hearing will be held in-person in the City Council Chambers, 25 W Main St., Auburn, WA, 98001 and telephonically. Any interested person is invited to appear and express comments or opinions on the proposed project. Written comments may be emailed to the contact person below, mailed attention to the contact person below to 25 W Main St., Auburn WA, 98001, or submitted at the public hearing. 

For citizens with speech, sight or hearing disabilities wishing to review documents pertaining to this hearing, should contact the City of Auburn within 10 calendar days prior to the meeting, as to the type of service or equipment needed.  Each request will be considered individually according to the type of request, the availability of resources, and the financial ability of the City to provide the requested services or equipment.
