The City of Auburn is issuing a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) for the following described project.
Proposal: Construction of an approx. 1,500 square foot office building and approx. 1.9 acres of paved yard. The paved yard will be used for the temporary staging of loaded shipping containers that will be picked up and transported to their final destination. The proposed use of the site is functionally similar to “Warehousing and Distribution”, while the aesthetics of the site will be similar to “Heavy Building Contractor” and “Heavy Equipment Sales and Rental”, which are allowed uses within the M-1 zone. An Administrative Use Permit is required to memorialize the operational conditions/parameters of the proposed use. The site is located in floodplain Zone AE per FIRM map panel 53033C1251G dated August 19, 2020 and requires a floodplain development permit.
Location: The site is located north of the intersection of 49th St. NW and B St. NW, addressed as 133 49th St. NW, King Co. Parcel No. 9360000170.

Statement of Consistency and List of Applicable Development Regulations: This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with the Auburn City Code, Comprehensive Plan, and Public Works Design and Construction Standards.
Lead Agency: City of Auburn. The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request.
Public Comment Period: This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2); the lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days from the date issued below. Comments must be in writing and submitted by 5:00 PM on April 25, 2022 to the mailing address of 25 W Main St., Auburn, WA, 98001 or emailed to the contact below. Any person wishing to become a party of record, shall include in their comments that they wish to receive notice of and participate in any hearings, if relevant, and request a copy of decisions once made.
Any person aggrieved of the City's determination may file an appeal with the Auburn City Clerk at 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA 98001- 4998 within 14 days of the close of the comment period, or by 5:00 PM on May 9, 2022.
