Skyhawks Hoopster Tots AGES 3-4

Learning basketball has never been more fun! These classes focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing and team work. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge.

Skyhawks Soccer Tots AGES 3-4

Playable on almost any surface, these soccer-themed motor skill classes are very easy for youngsters to get into. Younger age groups focus on developing motor skills and self-confidence; older classes focus more on developing core soccer skills and personal focus, and introduce an element of light competition. Instructor-to-student ratio is kept small to maximize individual development, and above all else we promote fun, fun, fun!

Skyhawks Sports Classes AGES 5-11

Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Our programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Our patient and knowledgeable staff use a variety of skill-building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of the sport. Classes will take place inside gym. Disc Golf Clinic  (Age 8+)

Recreational youth disc golf clinic. This will be a free instructional clinic to introduce disc golf to 8 years and older, adults are welcome too. If participants enjoy the clinic, they will be encouraged to sign up for our first youth disc golf league that will start the first week of April. Discs will be provided at the clinic, please dress for the weather clinic will take place rain or shine. Any youth pre-registered by March 17 is eligible for $5 registration discount for the disc golf league fee. Instruction provided by Mando's Academy.

Fee: FREE for ages 17 & under | $10 for ages 18+

Youth Disc Golf League
(Grades 3^rd-8^th)

Tuesday/Thursday

League Runs: April 1-May 20

Recreational youth disc golf league. Teams will practice and play games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 5:30-7:30 pm for 1 hour per night. Practices are scheduled to start 1st week of April. Games are scheduled to begin Mid-April. Teams will play six matches. Players will receive a shirt and 3 discs as part of their registration fee. Volunteers are recruited to coach. Email reminders will be sent out 7-10 days prior with specifics on time, place and other information. $10 early bird discount if registered by March 18. Coach instruction provided by Mando's Academy. $10 early bird discount if registered by March 18. League Fee: $60/$73.

Baseball/Fastpitch:

• Baseball - Kindergarten & Rules (PDF): For children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of the current year and for those who are currently in Kindergarten. Baseball Kindergarten is a coed instructional team sports program emphasizing sportsmanship and fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere. This program will be t-ball and coach pitch for those who are ready for it. Baseball Kindergarten has practices and games on Tuesdays and Thursdays June 6-July 27.  $10 Early bird discount if registered by May 3.
• Baseball - Grades 1-2 | Rules (PDF): League is a coed instructional machine-pitch program emphasizing sportsmanship and fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere. Practices and games are on Mondays and Wednesdays June 5-July 31.  $10 Early bird discount if registered by May 3.
• Baseball - Grades 3-4 | Rules (PDF): League is a natural progression from our instructional leagues. Teams play with 10 fielders, receive five pitched by their own pitcher and game scores are not recorded. Teams practice and play eight league games on Mondays -Thursdays, June 5-August 7.  $10 Early bird discount if registered by May 3.
• Girls' Fastpitch - Grades 3-4 | Rules (PDF): League is a natural progression from our instructional leagues. Teams play with 10 fielders, receive five pitched by their own pitcher and game scores are not recorded. Teams practice and play eight league games on Mondays -Thursdays, June 5-August 7. $10 Early bird discount if registered by May 3.

Track & Field (grades 1-8)

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department Youth Track & Field program is a recreational program for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. It includes a variety of running and field events. Sportsmanship, conditioning, leadership, and confidence are reinforced. Participants will learn the proper fundamentals of track and field events in a fun-filled atmosphere and get an opportunity to compete with other kids in various meets in Auburn, Issaquah, Snoqualmie & Renton. Early registration is due on the first Wednesday in May.

Coaches Needed

Volunteers are needed to make the youth sports programs a success. We are always recruiting coaches and assistant coaches. Coaches are certified through the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS). Contact us if you would like to assist with this year's program. Volunteer assignments are made on the basis of completing the following:

• Completing a City of Auburn Volunteer Application
• Passing a National background check
• Complete concussion training (state of Washington requirement)
• Complete sudden cardiac arrest training (state of Washington requirement)
• Complete coach training through National Alliance for Youth Sports, highly encouraged and paid for by City of Auburn
