West Valley Highway North – 15th Street NW to 29th Street NW

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019 and Wednesday, September 18, 2019, paving work by AA Asphalting for Puget Sound Energy will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of traffic on West Valley Highway North, from 15th Street NW to 29th Street NW, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Pedestrians will be accommodated through the work zone.

Auburn Way South (SR 164) – E Street SE to 12th Street SE - NIGHT WORK

Beginning Monday evening, September 16, 2019 through Saturday morning, September 21, 2019, construction work by Archer Construction for the New Arcadia House Project, will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of traffic on Auburn Way South (SR 164), from E Street SE to 12th Street SE, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This work is not dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Pedestrians will be accommodated through the work zone. Please pay close attention to police officers, flaggers and signs.

A Street SE – 6th Street SE to 17th Street SE - NIGHT WORK

Beginning Tuesday, September 17, 2019 through Wednesday, September 25, 2019, construction work by Pivetta Brothers Construction for the A Street SE Preservation project, will require lane closures and disruptions on A St Street SE, between 6th Street SE and 17th Street SE, during the following time frames:

• September 17th – September 19th : 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• September 20th – September 21st : Continuous 24 hour lane closures beginning Friday evening at 7:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday evening
• September 24th – September 25th :  7:00 PM to 5:00 AM

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Pedestrian access and routes through the work zone are expected to be maintained, however if pedestrian access is impacted then signed pedestrian detours will be in place. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Lea Hill Road SE - 104th Avenue SE to 105th Place SE

On Thursday, September 19, 2019, construction work by the City of Auburn will require a closure of the eastbound traffic lane on Lea Hill Road SE, from 104th Avenue SE to 105th Place SE, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Signed vehicular detour routes will be in place. Pedestrians will be accommodated through the work zone.

Auburn Way South(SR164) – Redwood Court to Hemlock Street

Beginning Monday, September 16, 2019, through Friday, September 20, 2019, utility work by Potelco for Puget Sound Energy will require lane closures and disruptions to westbound traffic on Auburn Way South(SR 164), from Redwood Court to Hemlock Street SE, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This work is not dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Pedestrians will be accommodated through the work zone.

Auburn Avenue - 4th Street NE to 5th Street NE
Auburn Way North - 4th Street NE to 2nd Street NE

Beginning Wednesday, September 4, 2019, through Thursday, September 12, 2019, construction work by Rino Construction for the Auburn Way North Sidewalk Improvement project, will require lane closures and disruptions to the northbound and southbound lanes on Auburn Avenue, from 4th St NE to 5th St NE and to the southbound lanes on Auburn Way North, from 4th St NE to 2nd St NE, between 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This work is not dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Sidewalks within the work zone may not be accessible. Pedestrian detours will be in place, and if required, personnel will be will present to escort pedestrian around work zones.

 2nd Street NE – Auburn Avenue to Auburn Way North Road Closure

On Saturday, September 14, 2019 construction work by Magnum Crane for Healthpoint will require a closure of 2nd Street NE to all traffic from Auburn Avenue to Auburn Way North from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This work is not dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Signed vehicular detour routes will be in place. Signed pedestrian detours will be in place.

Auburn Way South (SR 164) – 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza  SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION

Starting Friday, August 16, 2019, the speed limit in both directions of Auburn Way South between 17th Street SE and Muckleshoot Plaza will be reduced to 35 mph as part of the Auburn Way South Sidewalk Improvements project.

This will provide a safer work zone for our construction crews onsite as well as the travelling public driving through the project area.

Ellingson Road - C Street SW to A Street SE

On Monday, August 12, 2019, through Friday, September 13, 2019, construction work by ICON Materials for the 2019 Citywide Pavement Patching and Overlay project will require lane closures and disruptions of both directions of traffic on Ellingson Road, from C Street SW to A Street SE.

To accommodate commuter traffic, the work will occur at different times for each direction of travel:

  • Westbound lane closures will be between the hours of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Eastbound lane closures will be between the hours of 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM

This work is dependent on weather, and may be re-scheduled without further notice. Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, however delays should be expected.

Auburn Way North - 30th Street NE to 35th Street NE

Beginning Monday, August 19, 2019, through Friday, September 30, 2019, construction work by Miles Resources for the Duffy's Auto Brokerage project, will require lane closures and disruptions to the northbound lanes of Auburn Way North, from 30th Street NE to 35th Street NE, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.  

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Auburn Way South (SR 164) - 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza

Beginning Thursday, August 8, 2019, through the end of October 2019, construction work by R.W. Scott Construction for the Auburn Way South (SR 164) Sidewalk Improvements project, will require a right lane closure of westbound traffic on Auburn Way South (SR 164), from 17th Street SE to Muckleshoot Plaza, weekdays between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. This work is dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.  

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

City Wide Pavement Striping

Ongoing work now through the end of September, City wide pavement striping will be taking place. Crews will be striping arterial and collector roads throughout the City. Please do not follow paint vehicles too closely or cross over wet paint. This work is dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during painting, but minor delays should be expected in areas where painting is currently taking place.

A Street SE – East Main Street to 17th Street SE

On Monday, July 15, 2019 through Friday, October 25, 2019, construction work by Pivetta Brothers Construction, for the A Street SE Preservation project, will require intermittent lane closures and disruptions to both directions of A Street SE, from East Main Street to 17th Street SE during the following specified times:

• Northbound A Street SE between the hours of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Southbound A Street SE between the hours of 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

On Monday, April 29, 2019, through Monday, September 30, 2019, construction work by Stafford Excavating for the MIT Allotment M7 West project, will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of Auburn Way South, from Union Court SE to 32nd Street SE, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This work is not dependent on weather and may be re-scheduled without further notice.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.
